I was aware of intermediate fasting and how the ancient civilizations knew of the power of autophagy. Autophagy is the cleaning and recycling of damaged cells to produce new cells in the body.
I decided to take it to the next level with a 20-day DHerbs Raw Diet Cleanse. This diet was something special and affordable. You can check out their website as they provide the herb capsules to take daily. Also, I took it with two other detox supplements called activated charcoal and bentonite clay. These both act as binding agents to your stool, to dispose of any toxins. This diet required no cooked foods, no meat, no processed foods, filtered water, no caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol.
Below are my three-week experience and live updates.
Day #1: 09/09/2019
Diet: I followed my six supplements (5 capsules) daily routine for DHerbs. I also had a shake with plant protein, sea moss, greens powder, and raw cocoa powder at 11:00 am. I also had an apple, banana, walnuts, and almonds. Later, I had a loaded salad for lunch with my homemade Avocado Vinaigrette. Dinner I had Kale, Pea Pods, grapes, peach, Balsamic Vinaigrette, and Romaine Lettuce. I also finished the night with Charcoal and Bentonite Clay. This will be close to my daily diet.
Energy: I slept for about 5 hours, and my energy was still great! It’s now 11:30 pm and I am awake, super excited about this. I will see how my energy enhances.
Effects: Nothing Notable yet, keep in mind I was healthy before. I didn’t think about caffeine really; it was always a nice add on.
Something New: I learned how to make my own dressing, almond milk, and anti-inflammatory shake. I am learning a lot about food ingredients and recipes.
Challenges: I found out that I could not have hummus (Chickpeas), Justin’s Maple Syrup Almond Butter, or Pasteurized unsalted, unroasted almonds. Also, I can’t take glutamine pills or Psyllium fiber! I will be replacing or removing this starting tomorrow!
WEEK ONE RECAP
Overall week one was great; Adjusting to the diet was not too hard; it could be difficult for others. I got rid of meat, any chemicals, cooked foods, and caffeine. I like the diet honestly, I go deeper into my meditations and sleep better too. My energy was amazing the first week; I just didn’t feel as strong for physical activity. Overall feeling great.
Day #13: 09/21/2019
Diet:
Today was organic farm fruits from the lake. Also, I made the hydration drink and
had four protein scoops.
Energy: /Effects:
Absolutely depleted today from the half marathon. I’ve been out of it all day, and this was a huge goal, and I did it with no carbs on a raw diet cleanse.
Something New: Farmers Market around the lake and a hydrating drink.
Challenges: The Half Marathon was torturous; I couldn’t carb load the night before. I had a shake back, and a pick me up drink. I was suffering but managed to finish in 1 hour and 34 minutes at a 7:11 pace per 13.1 miles (Personal Record). I could feel the difference in my energy during endurance training, and it wasn’t right. I couldn’t even drink the Gatorade or water (tap) they provided at every 3 miles. I weighed myself, and I’ve lost around 10 pounds at this point, two weeks in.
WEEK TWO RECAP
I am becoming more appreciative of the foods and
coffee we take for granted. My energy levels are high; I feel light and clear
overall. I am learning smoothies and different raw vegan recipes, and it has
been fun. NEVER run a half marathon on this diet, which doesn’t include carbs
unless you eat sweet potatoes’ raw.
Week Three RECAP
I made it! Technically I made it 19 days; I ended today with pizza, which is advised against. Overall this experience was humbling and made me see there are alternatives. I learned so much about reading the ingredients on products and knowing what each chemical means. You have to watch out for labels! Overall, my energy and sleep were better; I felt better and more focused all day. I LOST 12 pounds when I was trying to keep weight on.
Conclusion
Before I started, I was working out at least five times a week and had a healthy diet. This is feedback coming from a young male who works out and eats healthy daily. I am stating this because your results will vary. You could lose more weight, and I promise you will drop weight very fast. The swap in diets could cause your body physical and mental withdrawal symptoms. I would try this diet if you are looking for a change and forming more discipline. Humans should do a detox at least 1-2 times a year in my eyes. Also, try not to do any physical activity that requires carb-loading like a half marathon. Be prepared to learn new recipes and eat a lot of salad. I would suggest doing it with a friend as well. Check out the DHerb 20- Day full body cleanse!

I love how you included the recap and the challenges you experienced. Great job!
Thank you! This was one of the most challenging diets I’ve ever finished. Along with the no carbs and half marathon too.
